This box drum is one of many Beloved Community collaborative art projects. The drum was constructed by Monk Drums of the Desert Rain Community in Chapparal. The outside design is by artist Georjeanna Feltha and the painting was done over a period of several weeks during the pandemic by members of the Beloved Community. This project is part of our "Belonging Through the Arts" endeavor to build community, funded by the City of Las Cruces, Walmart and Western Sky in partnership with the Southern New Mexico Community Foundation.
